I did this small written interview with Rude Bones on February 21st, 1998 when they played at Sea-Sea's in Moosic, PA with The Toasters and a few other bands.

UP - Who is in the band and what do they do?
RB - Hiroaki Ohkawa (Vocals, Alto Sax), Akihito Okabe (Tenor Sax, Vocals), Hiroshi Ito (Trombone, Vocals), Daijirou Ohoka (Guitar, Vocals), Yuta Chiba (Bass, Vocals), Yasuyuki Suzuki (Drums).
UP - Where is the band from?
RB - Tokoyo, Japan
UP - Did you play in America before this tour?
RB - Yes, one gig at a Moon Showcase at the Wetlands.
UP - How many American dates did/are you playing this time around?
RB - 8
UP - Do you plan on coming back to the states anytime soon?
RB - No, but we want to come back as soon as possible.
UP - Was MoonSka's "There'll Be Lots of Hard Times Along the Way" your first CD?
RB - Yes, in the United States, but our first CD was released in Tokoyo.
UP - What other releases do you have?
RB - "Omnibus" CD, "Skank for Brain" CD. Also on compilations "Misfits of Ska II" and "Reality has become SKA". In Japan.
UP - Who has been your favorite band to play with?
RB - Mighty Mighty Bosstones, Fishbone, The Toasters, etc...
UP - What is your favorite place to play?
RB - Everywhere.
UP - How did you get this show in Moosic, PA at Sea-Sea's?
RB - Moon Records helped us out a little.
UP - Did you like this show and the states in general?
RB - The honest reaction of the audience (the American people) is really nice.
UP - What other Japanese Ska bands would you recommend?
RB - Please get and listen to "Nihon Ska Dansu" compilation from Moon Records.
UP - How did you get to be on Moon Records?
RB - Last year, we had first gig at Wetlands which Moon Records liked. Then we got a contract with them.
UP - Do you plan on recording soon or are you planning any releases?
RB - Maybe. Specials tribute CD (one song), Moon Ska Compilation (one song), and "Red Hot & Rude" (one song).
